Our stock is wide and varied and we keep it as up-to-date as possible with books and other materials chosen to support the curriculum and to further students’ independent reading. We have a good selection of contemporary fiction as well as the classics, and are always interested to receive new suggestions or recommendations for good books to purchase for the library.
As well as a wide range of books, we subscribe to a variety of magazines, journals and newspapers. We offer specialist subject periodicals for further reading up to A-level, and we subscribe to a daily newspaper, a children’s newspaper and various magazines for adults and young people.
Books are loaned out for two weeks initially and can generally be renewed on request. DVDs, music CDs and text-books may be borrowed on shorter loans or are kept in the reference library. Reminders are issued on overdue loans (and if books are not returned after a reasonable period, we will charge for replacing them). Students can usually borrow up to three items at any one time.
