Outstanding GCSE results for St Bede's

Back

Year 11 students at St Bede’s have achieved outstanding GCSE results. I am extremely pleased that the Government has decided to allow our Year 11 pupils to be given their Centre Assessed Grades. This is what our hardworking Year 11 thoroughly deserve. It has been a privilege to work with this group of students over the past two years as they are most certainly a determined and motivated group of young adults. Well done to each and every one of them.

The headline figures from the results achieved this summer include 92% of students achieving a grade 4 or above in English and 93% of students achieving the same in maths. Over 38% of GCSE results were awarded grades 9-7 which is a fantastic achievement. This is down to the determination of our students but also the excellent teaching offered by staff here at St Bede’s and the fantastic parental support.

St Bede’s will continue to provide support for those students who need further help and advice. Should this be the case we encourage students to make contact with Mrs Wood and Mr Saunders who will be on hand to help.

Mrs Wood, Mr Saunders and I are thrilled with the achievements of our students and we are confident that should our Year 11 pupils have actually sat their exams in the summer they would have achieved these excellent results. We look forward to welcoming the majority of our students into the Sixth Form next week at our Year 12 Enrolment Day and will celebrate the GCSE successes in the autumn term.
