Friends of St Bede's - latest news

FriendsFunding requests amounting to more than £800 from various school departments have been agreed at the latest meeting of the Friends of St Bede’s.

Languages, textiles, art and the library will all benefit from the purchase of voice recorders, a chrome box, a digital camera and books for Year 7 pupils.

Debbie Hay, Chair of the Friends, said requests were received once a term from staff and pupils once they had been discussed by the senior leadership team at the school.  ‘This is always the best part of our committee meetings where we can actually agree to give some of the money raised at our events back to the school. These items are all beyond the school’s diminishing budget, but make a big difference to all the pupils. Thank you to everyone who supports the Friends and makes this all possible.’

The Friends is now organising a big social event for Saturday 9 2016 to mark 40 years of St Bede’s school.  The Summer of ’76 Party will be open to all parents and past pupils over 18 years ofage and more details and ticket information will follow shortly.
