10.30am 20/04/2020 School update

Dear Parents/Carers

We very much hope that every member of the St Bede's community is staying healthy through this difficult time. It has been heartening to hear the different ways in which people are supporting each other during the lockdown period. We continue to pray for those who are sick and give thanks for everyone who works in our emergency services.

Please note the following as the summer term begins:

1. School will be open each weekday for vulnerable children and those of key workers who cannot be cared for safely at home. If you have not already notified the school, please ensure you email in advance if your child will need to attend during the next few weeks.

2. Teachers will be setting work online for all those not in school. We would ask every student to do their best to complete the tasks that are set and seek help from teachers when necessary.

3. The Government is currently consulting over the way in which public exam grades will be awarded this summer. Mrs Tottey and Mr Saunders have already communicated with those in Years 11 and 13 and we will continue to update you when we have further information.

4. We will be writing to families in receipt of free school meals shortly to let them know when they will receive further payments.

We will inform all parents/carers when the national situation changes and the school starts moving back towards normality once again.

Best wishes

S Crabtree/A Powell
