11.20am - 15/05/20 - School update

Dear Parents/Carers

We hope all members of the St Bede's family continue to stay safe and well as the lockdown continues.

Please find below an update on the situation here:

  1. Since the Prime Minister spoke to the nation last Sunday there has been a good deal of speculation about how and when secondary students will return to school. While the senior team here has met to discuss our future plans, we are awaiting further guidance from the Government before we are ready to release details. We will communicate with you when we have further information.

  2. We remain grateful for the support of all parents/carers as online learning continues. We intend to keep the school open for children of key workers during the half term week and we have already communicated with those parents who are affected.

  3. Our chaplain, Rev Anna, is organising a 'Drive Thru' foodbank next Tuesday 19 May, when we are collecting for needy members of the local community. We have attached a flier giving details and we would urge everyone who is able to do so to support this worthy cause.

  4. You will be pleased to hear that work has been continuing to construct the school's timetable for the September term. We have made a number of teaching appointments so we will be fully staffed whatever form education takes in the autumn.

  5. And finally, we hope you enjoy this video which comes with the love and prayers of all the staff at St Bede's – the video can be viewed by clicking on this link https://clickv.ie/w/Oxbn

Best wishes
