11.00am - 23/05/2020 - School update

Dear Parents/Carers,

We continue to be very grateful for your support as the lockdown remains in place.

The following is designed to update everyone on the situation here.

1. We want to congratulate all our students on the progress that is being made online. No work will be set by staff during the half tem week and we hope everyone will be able to enjoy the sunshine.

2. We are actively considering how we can make it possible for more children to return to school during the second half of term. We have been promised further guidance from the Government on Thursday 28 May and we will be reviewing this before any decisions are made. The senior team have been meeting regularly and listening to all the information that is available from different sources and we will be discussing the advice with our governing body and members of staff. During the week beginning Monday 1 June teachers will continue to set work online and the school will only be open for the children of key workers. We will communicate with you when we have a further update.

3. We are grateful to all those who supported our ‘Drive Thru' foodbank. Here is a message from Rev Anna: "A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported this event. The weather was glorious and thanks must go to all who made it possible by helping on the day. We had over 135 cars drive through, not to mention all the donations that were left in the chapel. It was an amazing response to help those in need at this difficult time. Through the generosity of the St Bede’s community we have helped resource the Redhill, Epsom and Horley Foodbanks. Thank you for your kindness and generosity."

Best wishes
