04/09/20 - School update

Dear Parents/Carers

It has been great to see staff and students back at school this week. You will be pleased to hear that staff and students are making a real effort to follow the guidance that we have given them to ensure that everyone is kept safe and well. All year groups are adapting well to this challenging new environment, including the one way system, and we will continue to review measures taken and improve where necessary. As I have spoken with students at break, lunch and in class it is clear that they are happy to be back at St Bede’s and they are enjoying their lessons.

Sadly, we have had to cancel our Open Evening on Thursday17 September. This will mean that Thursday 17 September will be a full school teaching day. The school has informed the bus companies of this change so that students can still use the buses to get home. We aim to share information with prospective parents/carers in a virtual format so that they can begin to appreciate what life at St Bede’s is like.

Please may I ask that you ensure that your child(ren) are in full school uniform and are fully equipped for lessons including having their own hand sanitiser and face covering should the need arise. I am very grateful to you all for your continued support as this has helped kickstart the new academic year on a positive note.

Wishing you all a good weekend

Best wishes

Mr A Powell
