Another set of fantastic results at St Bede's Sixth Form!

Back

I am delighted with the fantastic results achieved by our sixth form students this summer. Despite all the challenges and disruption thrown at students this year, they have been awarded excellent A level grades. 56.5% of grades issued were A*-B which is an increase of over 5% from 2019. I am also pleased to report that 10% of grades achieved this year were A* with 30% of all grades being A*-A. This demonstrates the determination and resilience our students have shown over the last two years.

I am thrilled to see that so many of our sixth form students have got into their first choice university with at least three Oxbridge places being secured. Madeleine Hobern goes on to study architecture and Niamh Whelan will be studying history and politics at Cambridge; while Katie Cowcher will be studying chemistry at Oxford. Furthermore, we have seven students going on to study medicine including Jemima Clarke (Southampton), Lottie Drawbridge (Cardiff), Anna Garlick (Cardiff), Sophie Thompson (Exeter), Zain Qureshi (UCL), Judith Udoyeh (Hull York) and Anna Williams (Southampton).

For those students who have been given results lower than centre assessed grades we will continue to offer as much support as possible during this difficult time. The Sixth Form and Examinations team are on hand should any student need further help or advice.

Mrs Tottey and I are very proud of the achievements of our students and I am grateful to all the teaching staff who worked extremely hard over the last two years making sure that students achieved these fantastic results. We look forward to celebrating the successes of our Year 13 students formally in the autumn; in the meantime we wish them well for the next chapter in their lives.
